From Embedded Vision to Deep Learning: Konica Minolta Laboratory Europe focus on VISION 2016

Deep-Learning-Machine-Vision-Applications

Vision 2016, held from 8th to 10th November 2016 in Stuttgart, is one of the most relevant event dedicated to Machine Vision applications: 10,000 visitors from 58 countries and a record for the number of exhibitors. The fair, occurring every two years, presents the latest development in the sector of Machine Vision and I took part in the event for exploring new opportunities and solutions to be developed in our Lab. The three most interesting trends that I have noticed during my visit to Vision 2016 are:

  1. Embedded Vision will play a major role in the future of Machine Vision.
  2. Reliability is a keyword that should be at the basis of future developments of all Embedded Vision components, and good lessons learnt in Machine Vision should be kept as guidelines.
  3. Do not reinvent the wheel for Embedded Vision, and focus on algorithms already developed for vision applications, to optimize them and improve customization.

You can read VISION 2016 in 9 keywords: from Embedded Vision to Deep Learning for the whole description of my visit to this fair or get in contact with me for more details.
