Type of project
BEinCPPS – Business Experiments in Cyber-Physical Production Systems (Grant Agreement N. 680633) – aims to integrate and evaluate an IoT based machine-factory-cloud service platform in an industrial context. Initially, this will be evaluated within ﬁve selected industrial demonstrator sites and then afterwards extensively in all European regions, with the goal to improve the adoption of CPPS throughout Europe.
The full adoption by European SMEs of CPPS and their related service platforms and innovative business models will contribute to the efforts that European Members are dedicating to achieve the ambitious target to increase the contribution to their own GDPs from Manufacturing & Services by 2020.

Konica Minolta was selected as a Third Party to perform experiments within the framework of the European project in collaboration with other research and industrial organizations. The main application is to integrate Konica Minolta’s Wearable Communicator (WCc) smart glasses in the manufacturing process of the John Deere facility for tractor assembly.
To align the expectations of both KM and the BEinCPPS industrial champions, to define the outputs from the integration and test phases and prepare for the first real environment field tests within the manufacturing process.
To enhance current KM smart glasses software for step-by-step guidance, to meet the requirements for the industrial application within John Deere’s facilities.
